Eight Views of Yukkuri (ゆっくり八景) User Manual

Introduction

This file is the user manual for the “Eight Views of Yukkuri” game.

This game is a game where the player takes care of a pet yukkuri, giving her food, education, toys…

The player can also inflict abyuse on the yukkuri in many forms, including in apparently innocuous ways. As such, the game is not suitable for people who don't like this type of content.

Basic Gameplay

In “Eight Views of Yukkuri” the player takes care of a yukkuri placed inside a glass box.

The game offers many ways to interact with the yukkuri, such as feeding her or giving her toys.

Most of the times, the yukkuri will act on her own, but she will notify the player if there is something. For example, she will ask for food when hungry.

Interacting with the yukkuri is done by using the mouse. Using the left mouse button (or the right, if the mouse was configured with reversed buttons) will confirm selections or perform the selected action.

The right mouse button (or the left, in case of reversed buttons) will cancel the current selection, bringing the player in a neutral state in which pressing the mouse buttons will not perform any action.

There are two types of actions that can be performed after selecting an action:

  1. Item positioning

This type of action will place the selected item inside the glass box. The yukkuri can then interact with it at any time. An example of this action is placing the food plate so that the yukkuri can eat.

  2. Yukkuri–Player interactions

This type of action allows the player to directly interact with the yukkuri. These actions are performed by selecting the yukkuri after choosing the action. Some actions can be repeated by holding down the mouse button.

Usually the yukkuri will interrupt her previous action to interact with the player, but there are moments where this is not possible. These moments are different from action to action.

Actions are selected by navigating through the menu placed on the right side of the game window. The menu will be explained in detail in later sections.

In addition to these actions, the player can scold the yukkuri as part of her education. This is done by pressing the space bar while playing. Pressing the bar again stops the scolding.

While scolding is active, the player can interact with the yukkuri even when no action is selected, and some Yukkuri–Player interactions change. Scolding will be explained in more detail in a later section.

Yukkuri Food

Every yukkuri likes this type of food. They will definitely go “Happiness!” when eating.

On the other hand, their tastebuds will be spoiled.

Yukkuri Food

Normal food for yukkuri. Some yukkuri will go “Happiness!”, while other will ask for better.

    Does not spoil yukkuri tastebuds.

Spicy Yukkuri Food

This food is poisonous for yukkuri. They will definitely not go “Happiness!”.

Gross Yukkuri Food

Yukkuri find this food to be pukegross.

Autofeeder Off/On

This will add an autofeeder to the food plate. It can be configured in the Food Configuration menu.

    It is off by default.

Place Food/Feed Directly

This will make so that food is given either on a food plate (with an autofeeder if set on), or so that the player will feed the yukkuri directly.

The plate is placed by selecting the glass box (the plate will follow the mouse cursor), while direct feed is done by selecting the yukkuri. This action can be repeated.

By default, a plate is placed.

Sweets–sweets

Sweets–sweets are highly sought after by yukkuri. They will definitely go “Happiness!” when eating them.

On the other hand, on the long run their tastebud will be spoiled and they will refuse to eat anything else.

This is a list of the sweets–sweets you can feed them:

  • クッキー盛り合わせ – Assorted cookies
Cake
Hand–given cookies

Like Yukkuri Food, sweets–sweets have some options:

  • 餌皿を置く/手渡しで食べさせる – Place Food/Feed Directly

This will make so that sweets–sweets are given either on a food plate, or so that the player will feed the yukkuri directly.

The plate is placed by selecting the glass box (the plate will follow the mouse cursor), while direct feed is done by selecting the yukkuri. This action can be repeated.

By default, a plate is placed.

Special

This is high–class food, meant to be eaten only on special occasion.

Will spoil the yukkuri's tastebud.

This is a list of special food:

  • ペーコンごはんさん – Mister Bacon&Rice
Mister Carbonara

Like Yukkuri Food, special food has some options:

  • 餌皿を置く/手渡しで食べさせる – Place Food/Feed Directly

This will make so that the special food is given either on a food plate, or so that the player will feed the yukkuri directly.

The plate is placed by selecting the glass box (the plate will follow the mouse cursor), while direct feed is done by selecting the yukkuri. This action can be repeated.

By default, a plate is placed.

Not Good

Weeds

Most yukkuri will find this bitter, but stray yukkuri can still go “Happiness!” eating it.

Garbage

It's literal garbage, not really food for yukkuri.

Place Food/Feed Directly

This will make so that the food is given either on a food plate, or so that the player will feed the yukkuri directly.

The plate is placed by selecting the glass box (the plate will follow the mouse cursor), while direct feed is done by selecting the yukkuri. This action can be repeated.

By default, a plate is placed.

Food Configuration

Adjust Food Quantity

Decides how much food is placed on the plate:

    • 小 – Small

Very little food is placed on the plate. The yukkuri might starve.

Medium

A medium amount. Might still not be enough for some yukkuri.

Large

A good amount of food is given. Giving too much food might spoil the yukkuri's behaviour.

Extra large

Lots! of food is poured on the plate. Giving too much food might spoil the yukkuri's behaviour.

Autofeeder Settings

    Configure the autofeeder's behaviour:

    • 常に給餌 – Always feeding

Gives a never–ending stream of food. The yukkuri will not starve, but giving too much food might spoil her behaviour.
